Sunday Saves: How to Prepare For a Move

Week of September 14th, 2020

It seems our last few weeks have been consumed with getting ready to sell our own home. Nights and weekends, we’ve been decluttering, organizing, painting, and cleaning windows to name a few. But we knew this day would come, as we prepare to live in my nieces home for the next several months while our new home is being completed. (My niece is moving to Paris for work!)

Many things come to mind while we’re packing up, but our How to Prepare For a Remodel keeps running through my mind. Yes, recycle all of those product manuals – everything is online now, get our kids involved (reminding them what they pack up they will have to unpack later) and meal prep ahead of time. With our house on the market, we won’t have time for messy meals at night, quick and easy is the key.

Featured in Houzz

We recently contributed to this article published on Houzz on How to Choose Your Ideal Client. While there is no easy answer, we definitely prioritize those willing to talk budget early and often. Read more here as well as our recent post on why it is important to set a budget.

Princeton Avenue

We’ve done full week into demo over at Princeton Avenue. If you’d like to follow along, find our highlight on our Instagram profile for ongoing behind the scenes updates. The finished product will be packed with charm, history and a lot of blue. Also, read our blog here on all the design details in store for this gorgeous home in St. Paul.

Studio McGee Round-Up

I stayed up until 2am to score my wish list from the newly released Fall collection by Studio Mcgee last weekend. I was able to get everything I had ‘hearted’ on my target app. While I am purging in one direction, I am carefully adding new items for the house. I am a BIG believer in going custom when possible, while layering in thoughtfully curated budget friendly pieces. Our friends at Studio Mcgee and Target have made the best design collaboration yet and are making this so easy for us. I am sharing a few of my favorites here, while many sold out, these all appear to be back in stock. If not, keep and eye on them for restock.
