Sunday Saves: How to Enjoy Your Home During the Summer Months
Did you work tirelessly on your home over the past few years to make it your sanctuary? Or maybe you purchased a new home, recently completed a major renovation, and are fighting the temptation to travel vs staying home and enjoying your new space. We have 5 easy ways to get the most out of your updated space and enjoy your home during the Summer months. Keep reading, we’ve included a link to bacon for life below.
Deep Clean Your Patio
We’re not talking about a light sweep here, as it may require a deep power wash. Remove the winter grime, and in our case bird droppings from the Spring. While setting up your patio may require seasonal sweat equity, it’ll feel like new each time you invest in your space. Accessorise with fresh flowers from a local greenhouse, new throw pillows or add the string of patio lights you’ve had sitting in your garage the past few winters. Don’t forget to eat outside, change up your mealtime scenery and start a new tradition.

Open the Windows
Nothing beats the morning breeze with a warm cup of coffee. Let the fresh air in, air out the winter months (or maybe last night’s dinner). Once the season comes to a close, we’ve created a blog post on how and why you should remove your window screens for the colder months ahead.
Don’t forget to use your ceiling fans, we find clients putting fans into their bedrooms often. While it will not create cool air, it will help circulate the fresh air with your windows open.

Make a Home Bar
Skip the bar scene, and make a home bar with fresh ingredients and cocktail recipes easily on hand. We love following Half Baked Harvest, not only for her easy dinners on the regular but for her incredible cocktail lineup. A home bar is essential for entertaining or sipping a mind day spritzer in between yard work. Nothing says Summer like a spicy margarita.

Support Local Farmers Markets
Taking a long walk to your local farmer’s market may be the best way to enjoy Summer, at home. Fresh ingredients to inspire home cooking and fresh meals for the patio season ahead. We’ve signed up for shares before at local markets, this is such good use of fresh vegetables if you have the time. Otherwise, a Saturday morning visit will get the job done. Check out Butcherbox as a nice supplement to your fresh vegetables, with regular protein deliveries. Currently offering bacon for life with a new subscription.

Meal Prep In a Chef Worthy Kitchen
If you haven’t recently upgraded your space, maybe now is the time. While the industry has been climbing for the past several months, now may still be the time to get in. The sooner you make these necessary investments, the quicker you can enjoy your new chef-worthy kitchen. Make meal prep, store fresh foods, and using state of the art appliances a dream come true.
