Sunday Saves: BTS at the Kath Tudor
Week of August 24th, 2020
We are 8 weeks into building our own personal home. However, it’s been 8 months of making selections and this last week we finalized and ordered, appliances, lighting, tile and are wrapping up final plumbing selections. It’s enough to make our heads spin. The double and triple checking .. and of course the second guessing. We remind ourselves, as we do with our clients, stop over thinking – the selections will be amazing!
In lieu of a traditional ‘Sunday Saves’ post today, we’re taking you behind the scenes of the selections we’ve made. We are so thrilled to see this come together and know we will open up our home on the Parade of Homes tour Spring 2021, stay close for all the details. We’d love to have you stop by.
Owner’s Suite
What I’ve loved about designing this space, is the blend of traditional, yet modern touches. What is MY design style? All of it really, but at the heart of it – I’m a purist and love a nod to traditional elements while implementing a fresh modern take too. We will design and build the vanity in our shop (refining finishes now), and currently working with Luke at Chicago Brass to select the perfect hardware that will compliment the luxe gold plumbing selections by Brizo. Loving their latest release of the Invari collection.
In a separate post we will detail all of our lighting selections, for now – highlighted here are the Vendome single and double sconces by Visual Comfort, which we selected with ease by our friends at Rabbit Creek – the loveliest showroom for all lighting + furniture needs in Minneapolis.

Tile selections above are from our partners at Jeffrey Court Tile, as brand ambassadors we always start with Jeffrey Court – they have constantly shown up as a reliable and quality vendor for our clients, and our personal past projects. I am so excited to try new selections in our own home that will be a first for us and our followers to see installed.
Flooring – 18 x18 Classic Statuario
Shower Floor – Coit Nouveau Mosaic
Shower Walls – Mod Herringbone Mosaic in Bardiglio
Charlie’s Bathroom
Charlie has bar far shown the most interest in his bathroom selections, he was hoping for something moody and modern. Wall mounted toilet, glass elements throughout, touchless faucets galore. This is where we settled, somewhere in between a spaceship and the early 20th century.
Lighting: Visual Comfort Keely Short Sconce from Rabbit Creek
Plumbing: Delta Trinsic in Champagne Bronze

Jeffrey Court Tile Selections
Floor – Home Depot Jeff Lewis Collection, Manhattan Mosaic
Wall – Home Depot Jeff Lewis Collection, Bedford Mosaic
Lyla’s Bathroom
Our most playful bathroom indeed! Lyla will not allow wallpaper in her bedroom, so the bathroom it is! This will be our third space with wallpaper in our home (there can never be enough wallpaper). The Underwater World wallpaper was selected by our interior designer on staff, Katie Miller, for a client project. I fell in love and ‘grabbed’ the idea for this space too.
We’ve partnered with HanStone Quartz for a whole house install in solid surfaces. With a variety of selections, we’re over the moon with the UnEarthed collection, raw, natural and refined enough to stand up to the other timeless selections throughout the home.

One of our favorite bathroom selections, Delta Cassidy faucet and shower head in polished nickel will be featured here. We also balanced the budget with a Target mirror, featuring the Threshold Mirror from the kick off Studio McGee collection.
Lighting: Boswell Sconce from the Kate Spade collection, purchased from Rabbit Creek.
Jeffrey Court Tile Selections
Floor – Metropolitan Beige Mosaic
Wall – Wall Street White Beveled 3 x 6
Sienna’s Bathroom
Last, but not least .. and a little bit of all the other selections that didn’t make their way into the other bathrooms. A compilation of favorite items, The Press all glass mosaic floor tile by Jeffrey Court, inspired by newsrooms from eh early 20th century. The Keeley Large Sconce in polished nickel, also from Rabbit Creek and a PINK bathroom vanity. Yes, our 14 year old gave me permission to use pink, we’ve come a long way.
Also, we settled on these light fixtures as we found one in a sample sale Rabbit Creek was having last Spring for $100! Give them a follow on IG, they have the best sample sales – case goods, custom furniture and lighting deals.

We also selected one of Delta’s newest releases, the Dorval in matte black, paired with Storm quartz from HanStone UnEarthed Collection. We love the regal flare of this space, old world meets new world.
Wall Tile – Europa Arte in Paloma
Phew, this is it friends. The reveal of our 4 bathrooms in the house – we hope you enjoy the inspiration. Comment below if you select any of the above selections for your upcoming remodel, we’d love to know!
Thanks for following along + happy Summer days ahead.
