Sunday Saves: Te Amo Colombia
Week February 3, 2020:
The countdown is on, I am headed to Colombia on the 15th. I’ll be joining 27 other women for a service trip hosted by friend Mollie with Wildhive. You can read more about it here.
For the service portion of our trip, we will be volunteering with La Sierra Artist Residency, a Colombian non-profit organization. We are raising money to build a community center in Santa Marta, Colombia! Our group raised $12,000 to contribute to the materials, so they’re ready for us when we arrive. Watch a video here to learn more about the work that La Sierra Artist Residency does.

While I’ve spent the past few weekends meal prepping, preparing and freezing dinners for my family, I am currently focused on the books I will be taking with me. I always have BIG plans to read when I travel. I had recently picked up On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous from Milkweed Editions, a local bookstore. Only to find out weeks later that my favorite IG account @clumsy_words reviewed the book, and what she calls a near perfect read.

I’m also packing Next Year in Havana, and I Heard You Paint Houses because I am always up or a psychological thriller.
Are you following along on Pinterest?
We’re participating in a month long social media challenge, and it kicks off with Pinterest. We’re pretty familiar with WHAT we should be doing, but needed the nudge and accountability to implement. That being said, if you’re not using Tailwind yet to schedule pins to Pinterest, this tool is a must. Last week I scheduled 850 pins in one night and currently pinning 12-15 pins a day, so we’re good through mid March. I can put I on my calendar in one month from now to load pins for another 4-6 weeks using the content we’re currently publishing. It’s a slick system, excited to see our impressions grow. I’m including a snapshot of where were were when we kicked off this challenge and will be sure to share the results end of month. We have a goal of hitting 1 million impressions this month.

Sustainability
Katie Miller, our in house Designer, has been busy publishing a series of blog posts on sustainability. Furnishing Your Home After a Renovation, Guide to Choosing the Right Flooring, and Guide to Eco-Friendly and Healthy Furniture. This has been such an informative and fun series we’ve decided to partner with local blogger Paisley and Sparrow for a month long challenge in April. We’re hoping to motivate our followers to make daily sustainable changes. Sponsors and giveaways are in the works, stay tuned!

Country Club
We delivered our #countryclub project this week, always a bitter sweet moment when we’ve worked so closely with our clients and we’ve come to the finish line. Scheduled photo shoot in March, we will share all the finished work with you, until then here is a sneak peek of the custom built in’s we created in the family room area.

Kath House
We’ve made this announcement already, but we’re building our own custom home. We just closed on the property last week. The property needs a demolition of the existing one bedroom home. We’re NOT busy making plans, lol. We wish we were but continue to prioritize client work (so that we can build our own home). What we have done is partnered with an architect to kick off the project. We’re excited to announce we will be collaborating with Jeff Lindgren from Jalin Design. Jesse and Jeff have a history of working together and built this house together many years ago. We hope to share initial plans in the next few weeks, think English Modern Tudor.

Next week, I’ll be publishing this post from sunny Colombia, stay close to our stories for ongoing updates.
