Hale House Project + The Tiled Home Reveal
The Hale House attic en suite renovation reveal is here! We completed this project earlier this Spring and have been excitedly sitting on the photos, waiting for the time to reveal this project. We had to wait because this en suite bathroom is featured on the cover of Jeffrey Court's new coffee table book, The Tiled Home! And now we can finally reveal the rest of the Hale House project!
Renovating older homes in charming Minneapolis and St. Paul neighborhoods is our sweet spot. These homes often come with rich histories, prime locations, and confining floor plans.
Our clients, a young family of three, in the Hale neighborhood of Minneapolis had the perfect location, just blocks from Lake Nokomis. However, their existing bedroom and bathroom count was restraining. With hopes of staying in this home long term they needed to make the existing attic space more functional for their family.
Our team built a new grand bedroom suite with a stylish and functional bathroom, walk-in closet and additional room for a future nursery or home office, which is very useful these days!
These homeowners had a very clear vision for their bathroom: black and white with warm wood elements. We partnered with our friends at Jeffrey Court to showcase the amazing tile selections in their collection with The Home Depot. Blending the quality and style of Jeffrey Court and accessibility of The Home Depot during a pandemic, it was a perfect fit for this project.
The three types of mosaic tile we used are all natural stone, marble and basalt. I absolutely love the texture and pattern interest in the Hudson Carrara White on the shower walls, grounded by the Riverfall basalt mosaic in a chevron pattern on the shower floor.
Century Star Natural Stone Mosaic on the floor throughout adds deep color variation to the neutral palette of the room. All three mosaics are timeless and fitting to the home's age.
The Jkath Cabinet Shop made the gorgeous double vanity in a natural stained white oak, letting the rift sawn cut show through. The Storm quartz countertop from the Hanstone Unearthed Collection is a showstopper. The textural Riverwash finish is perfect for a bathroom application. It adds a depth to the bright space and ties in the black finishes.
The linen cabinet was a phenomenal add on to incorporate more storage to the bathroom. Everything can fit into this piece, which tailors itself to the sloped ceiling.
This attic renovation to complete a new grand en suite is going to help this family stay in the home and neighborhood they love for years to come. It brings true sentiment to make your home work for you.
