Main Floor Glow-Up; A Fresh Take on Timeless Design
Welcome to our latest reveal! This main floor renovation at Medina Lake Drive is a testament to timeless design, intentional living, and the power of thoughtful craftsmanship. The Jkath Design Build + Reinvent team took a dated layout and brought it to life with modern elegance, functional upgrades, and character-driven design.

Before and After: A Fresh Perspective
What was once a dated and not so functional floor plan has been opened up to invite natural light, fluidity, and everyday livability. Strategic structural changes allowed us to knock down small barriers, literally, and reimagine the flow from the kitchen to the living and dining spaces. Take a look at the before images here, with the previous and new layouts of this main floor.

Custom Cabinetry & Classic Touches
The kitchen is truly the heart of this home, and it’s packed with custom Jkath Design Build cabinetry in Sherwin Williams Limewash with Rejuvenation Ansel brass hardware. A contrasting island in warm oak tones, grounded with handmade zellige tile that adds texture and artisan flair.

Pass Through Pantry
We also added a walk-in pantry with a dual arched entrance, taking from a portion of the original kitchen floor plan. Custom dark painted cabinets blended with faux walnut pantry storage adjacent, prioritizing aesthetic while leaning into a budget friendly version for bulk storage.
Floor tiles by Tile Bar, Fordham Grigio and Bianco in porcelain, cut to size. Cabinetry painted in Sherwin Williams Black Magic.

Living Room: Warm, Layered, and Livable
All new fireplace, custom stone surround, and built in cabinetry pained in Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee for optimal storage and decor stands out in this new space. Custom furnishings selected by our design team and curated styling bring a lived-in vibe to this cozy room.

Details in the Dining Room
A newly added wall separates this space from the front playroom and the newly added pass through pantry to the kitchen. Entertaining with ease, and a bit more formality this house demands. Walls and millwork are painted in Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee.

Final Thoughts; More Than Just Pretty
While the final look is visually pleasing, what makes this renovation a true success is how intentionally it was designed for the people who live here. Every design detail and customization was chosen to support their lifestyle, and craftsmanship to last a lifetime.
