Live in the Details® – Kath Home Owner’s Suite
Finally getting settled in our new home, with our own punch list that feels like a mile long. Here to report we’re on the other side of that and the details have finally come together that we’ve longed for. Today we’re taking you behind the scenes of our owner’s suite in our new home. One of the fist spaces we designed and continued to evolve once the home started to take shape. Adding arched details to mirror those on the main floor and as of recently, a newly added pair of vintage artwork for the bathroom that I cannot get enough of.
Modern Tudor Bathroom

The inspiration for the whole home really began with a modern Tudor aesthetic, with a focus on timeless, traditional with modern and clean lines, breathing new life into a Tudor vibe. With this in mind we opted for the contemporary Pella black wood windows in the Architect Series, sheetrock returns to eliminate any window casing – a Tudor element we left behind.
Additionally, in the owner’s suite, we selected all stone tiles for the floor, shower walls and floor too. These are the details I am most fond of in our entire home. Compliments of brass finishes and our very own hand crafted bathroom vanity from our cabinet shop, here in Minneapolis.

Owner’s Bedroom – Take Me Away
Our bedroom is light, bright, and BIG. Living in the city, I never dreamed of having such a large bedroom – I am not even sure I am using it to it’s capacity, but it’s cozy and also full of architectural interest with ceiling details, roof lines with interest, a modest built in for linen storage, black contrasting windows to the otherwise all neutral space. Our favorite destination is the West Coast, this watercolor we purchased a few years ago is equally calming and an investment piece worth splurging for.
Also, what I love about this space – we repurposed a few things from our previous home. The area rug, painting as mentioned, and some accessories including all of our bedding. A great reminder, new doesn’t need to be fast fashion.
