Favorite Fireplace Surrounds Just in Time for Cozy Season
The snow has arrived to Minnesota and we are gearing up to spend more time indoors. And we believe snuggling up around the fireplace to be one of the best ways to do it. Whether your home has a wood burning, gas or electric fireplace, the fireplace surround is a focal point. We’re sharing our favorite fireplace surrounds just in time for cozy season.
Mantel Fireplace Surround
Clean and traditional mantel fireplace surround is a sophisticated addition to any space. This design style allows for a lot of customization. We love adding a patterned tile or natural stone surround and hearth to add color and pattern. In the St. Albans renovation a dark painted surround is dramatic. While the Drew Avenue living room fireplace is subtle in color, but the white oak mantel and arched top add architectural interest.

Cast Stone Fireplace Surround
Cast stone fireplaces are a contemporary way to add a timeless traditional surround to a family room. We’ve been installing this surround in several projects the last several years, including the Biscayne Avenue and Kath Home projects and the upcoming Adrian Circle. This style will long live past trends to add a traditional element with a clean surface.

Natural Stone Fireplace Surround
Natural stone provides beautiful variation in color, size and texture to all fireplace surrounds. Pair with a simple wood mantel and contrast with contemporary clean lines to complete the look.

Wood Planking Fireplace Surround
The walnut planked fireplace surround from the Whitegate Lane living room is one of our most referenced fireplaces. In a light and bright airy room, the rich walnut color and grain is a focal point in the Scandinavian modern design.

Metal Fireplace Surround
Finished, stylish lower levels are a hot commodity to get through snowy Minnesota winters. We made this hang out space even cooler with a sleek black metal feature surrounding a linear gas fireplace. Flanked by reclaimed white oak wood accents. This is our kind of accent wall.

Brick Fireplace Surround
Many homes feature brick fireplaces in a variety of states. If the brick color isn’t to your liking – paint it! This floor to ceiling brick fireplace stands out in just the right way in the Westbrook Road living room.

Stay cozy and safe out there this winter season. We wish you the most hygge season.
