Drew Ave Project Kitchen Reveal
Finally. The long-awaited Drew Ave project is complete and we are thrilled to share its grand reveal, starting with the kitchen! This whole house renovation began by tearing the single-story home down to the foundation, rebuilding it, and adding a second story. The new open-concept main floor layout functions significantly better for this family’s daily life, with bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second story.
This home was supposed to be featured as a Dream Home during the Parade of Home’s Remodeler’s Showcase weekend. We’re disappointed we couldn’t share it with you all in person, but we’re thrilled we can finally share this project reveal.
Let’s dive into the Drew Ave kitchen!
There are so many beloved details in the kitchen design. The custom mantel range hood, made in the Jkath cabinet shop, is a stunning feature with Silestone Calacatta Gold quartz running up the wall. Integrating niches on the side walls of the hood feature gives space for everyday cooking essentials, such as salt and pepper, olive oil, butter, and utensils. The walnut island with a beautiful natural finish has enough space for everyone and ample storage space in close proximity.
The pantry off the side of the kitchen is one of our favorite features in this space. Bifold doors open to a sweet moment of walnut shelving for the coffee bar, beverage bar, and microwave. Creating our own cabinetry allows us to incorporate special features throughout the home such as the range mantel, this pantry, and other features you will see in reveals to come.
Light + Balance
With plenty of kitchen storage available we opted for a wall of windows over the sink to give balance to the detailed range wall. The black Marvin windows are a feature themselves, allowing sunshine to flood into the home with a view of the backyard. The height of the 9′ tall ceilings are accented with the swing arm sconces over the windows. Glass dome pendants with subtle brass details provide unobstructed sight lines.
A mix of brass finishes are found throughout the home and cultivated in the kitchen. We partnered with Kraus USA for sinks and faucets throughout the project and the Kraus Oletto Single Handle Pull Down Faucet in a beautiful brushed brass is the perfect contemporary fixture for a kitchen style that won’t age. A mix of brass hardware and lighting fixture finishes adds warmth against the cabinetry.
