Behind the Scenes: Westbrook Road Phase II
We are back at Westbrook Road for phase II of this home renovation. Jkath completed this homeowner’s stunning kitchen transformation in 2019 and it was recently featured in MSP Magazine. This homeowner has an impeccable and forward thinking design eye. Her new kitchen is the epitome of elegant, with every small detail considered, a complete transformation from the uninspired space before. The same approach is being taken for the second phase.
Next up we are focusing on the home’s two bathrooms, beginning with the lower level guest bathroom. Once that renovation is complete we will move up to main level for what’s shaping up to be another jaw-dropping transformation.
Lower Level Bathroom
The lower level bathroom will be a blend of contemporary timelessness. That may be an oxymoron, but means the timeless black and white color palette will be complemented with contemporary elements, such as the Mantis BS5 SW sconce, custom sink with black legs and honed Carrara marble top, and Brizo wall mounted sink faucet. With the customizable options at Room & Board a 23″ onyx gloss round Infinity mirror will perfectly fit above the vanity. Matte black shower plumbing fixtures, also from the Brizo Jason Wu collection, will stand out against simple 4×4 white square wall tiles. Matte black 2 inch hexagon floor tile will ground the space.

A space doesn’t need to be large to be grand. The main floor bathroom is modest in size with a spacious vanity and shower/tub combo. Inspired by Eye Swoon’s gorgeous pink marble shower, we were on the hunt for rose or blush toned marble in the United States. Our friends at Terrazzo & Marble Supply, who supplied the Imperial Danby marble in the kitchen, sourced us beautiful Quarzo Juliet quartzite. This quartzite, with blush tones, deep charcoal and moments of crimson, is going to surround the shower tub and be the top for the vanity. Of course to pair with the stunning quartzite we had to have equally as beautiful plumbing fixtures, and the Henry collection by Waterworks in unlacquered brass is the perfect partner.
We’re confident this phase is going to turn out just as beautiful as the first. The lower level bathroom will be wrapping up in the coming weeks and then we’re full force into the main level, where custom selections are already being made.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Katie Miller + the Jkath team
