We Had an Open House!
The summer simply flew by, it doesn’t even feel right. For those of you not living in the Midwest, we get 3 precious months a year to live like the rest of our country and soak up the sun, water sports, cabin life, outdoor eating, need I say more? The good news, we enjoyed every minute of it in between client projects. What we didn’t take time to do is share our biggest project we’ve closed out in 2018 with everyone, sneak peeks all over Instagram and our website, but we haven’t published a final reveal until now.
The Josephine Place project was a late 2017 kick off. This early 1900’s colonial home was in need of updates, expanded living areas and an open floor plan. More importantly, the clients were torn between staying in the city and making it a forever home or moving out to the suburbs with the space and overall endless opportunities. Lucky for us, they had a vision and were committed to seeing it through.

The plan was to add on 1,800 square feet to the left of the home with a 2 story addition. Adding a master bedroom on the second story as well as a master bath and walk in closet.

We also did a refresh on the kids bedrooms, all new paint throughout and reconfigured the nursery to add a hallway back to the new master suite.

The main floor living, the showpiece of the house was a total gut and redo. The once galley kitchen was relocated from what is now the mudroom to the new addition. The living room was opened up to a shared space with the dining room for a total open floor concept.

One of my favorite new spaces in this home is the playroom, just off the kitchen with east facing sun in the morning.

The mudroom saw the largest transformation as this once held the galley kitchen. The wall was moved back to enlarge the dining room space and compartmentalize the mudroom.

In the end, we knew this project was a total transformation with the true essence of our brand. We held and open house in partnership with the Parade of Homes last Spring, and saw over 1,000 attendees. We called in a dynamic team of local talent to help style and stage this home beyond the clients possessions. (sources and collaborators listed toward the bottom)
