Ceiling Makeover
When asked to start our recent lake house remodel, one of our biggest challenges was the vaulted popcorn ceiling. Several structural cracks along stress points and discoloring. Typically we would suggest scraping, repairing, skimming, and painting the ceilings new again. However, this seemed like the perfect project for a facelift and our clients were game. We suggested a tongue and groove ceiling and used this image as our design inspiration.
Everyone instantly fell in love and we were off.. ! No time to spare.

Our cabinet shop created a wood beam and took a few good men, ladders, and scaffolding to install. (yikes!)

Our team installed one by one tongue and groove boards, cutting around the added recessed cans for lighting.

Once installed, we added trim to the outside perimeter and began to spray the ceiling in Benjamin Moore White Dove paint.

Our very own Jesse with Jkath climbing the scaffolding to complete finishing touches on the ceiling. He is sort of a perfectionist.. living in the details is no joke with this guy.

The finished product, our team perfected the several cut outs and window skylights.

Entire room view, with ceiling fan installed next. We couldn’t be more pleased with the end result, adding to the coastal charm we are after. Finishing touches happening now, stay tuned for finished space details. Before + after coming to the blog…
